Cross Egypt Challenge is happy to invite the members of your prestigious club to its flagship rally, "Cross Egypt Challenge" this November 14-22, 2014 in Egypt.
Cross Egypt Challenge is a series of international cross-country endurance motorcycle and scooter rallies conducted throughout one of the most mysterious and fascinating countries of the world, Egypt. The series started in 2011 and the first season was a 9 days rally from the shores of the Mediterranean Sea in the North of Egypt to the temple of Abu Simbel, on the southern borders of Egypt for a total distance of over 1700 km. Both the following two seasons witnessed a 2400 km route through the Egyptian western desert where the riders enjoyed riding between the most exotic oases of the Sahara desert. They also had participants from over 20 different countries.
The 2014 season of Cross Egypt Challenge will start on November 14 and will last for 9 days. The successful series will include a fascinating and challenging route of 3000 km which will start from the Mediterranean city of Alexandria; pass by Egypt's capital, Cairo, make stops at the Red Sea resort cities of Sokhna, Elgouna and Marsa Alam. The challenge will then head west to the Nile valley to visit Aswan and the ancient city of Luxor, the world's largest open air museum city, and the capital of Ancient Egypt. From Luxor the riders will head North west to explore some of the most fascinating oasis of the Egyptian Sahara (desert). A total number of 4 oasis will be explored on route before the final leg of the 2014 season of Cross Egypt Challenge takes place between Bahareya Oasis and Cairo to end the new season under the Great Pyramids of Giza.
Cross Egypt Challenge provides a very rewarding and challenging experience for participating riders from around the globe as it combines the best of adventure travels and extreme sports. I would like to invite the riders of your club to attend Cross Egypt Challenge. It will be an honor to have you presented at this one of a kind rally. I know it may seem difficult to ship motorcycles from where you are located to Egypt to participate in the rally, but if you are located in Europe, we have made arrangements with an Italian partner that will help shipping your motorcycles from Genoa in Italy to Alexandria in Egypt. The Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt will also assist with the custom procedures at Alexandria port to clear your bikes before the rally.
In the case you do not want to ship your bikes, we have a motorcycle and scooter rental options for international riders wishing to attend the rally.
Registration fees per person in Cross Egypt Challenge are:
USD 1,700 for participating riders
USD 1,575 for accompanying persons (in the chase vans) – no pillion passengers are allowed.
Optional rental fees
USD 750 for Yamaha TTRE 600cc motorcycle
USD 850 for Honda Hornet 600cc motorcycle
USD 400 for SYM 150cc scooter (automatic transmission)
The registration fees covers the following:
- Accommodation for 8 nights in 4 to 5 stars hotels (depending on the availability at each destination).
- Accommodation for 1 night in a first class desert camp.
- All meals during the challenge including welcome and farewell dinners.
- Personal accident insurance for the duration of the challenge.
- 1 vest (for riders only), 2 branded polo shirts and 2 branded long sleeve t-shirts for each participant.
- 1 new pair of gloves for the participant's use during the challenge. (for riders only)
- Refueling during the entire challenge.
- Oil changes during the challenge.
- Motorcycle and scooter maintenance during the challenge.
- Road tolls (where applicable).
- Cost of army/military and special permits for the entire route.
- Airport pickup from Cairo airport for International participants.
- All rally support services including: photography, mechanical, support trucks, medical support, etc..
- Transport in air-conditioned van/4x4 vehicle throughout the rally for accompanying persons.
